Child-Parent Relationship Therapy
CPRT

At The Kid’s Therapy Center, we believe that a strong, connected relationship between you and your child is the most powerful tool for emotional growth and healing. That’s why we offer Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT)—an evidence-based, deeply empowering program designed to strengthen your bond, reduce behavioral issues, and promote lasting change through play, empathy, and partnership.

What is Child-Parent Relationship Therapy?

CPRT is a 10-week research-based parent training program grounded in play therapy principles. Developed from decades of clinical research, CPRT teaches parents to become the therapeutic agent of change in their child’s life, especially for those struggling with emotional, behavioral, or attachment-related challenges.

Rooted in the work of Dr. Garry Landreth and Dr. Sue Bratton, CPRT is proven to:

-
Decrease defiance, aggression, and anxiety
-
Improve self-esteem, trust, and emotion regulation
-
Deepen the emotional connection between parent and child

Reduce parental stress and increase confidence

Common Questions from Parents:

“Will this really help my child?”
Yes. Research shows CPRT improves symptoms of ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and more by addressing root causes through connection, not just compliance.
“What if I’ve tried everything?”
CPRT is different. It’s not just about behavior—it’s about relationship. When children feel heard and safe, their behavior shifts naturally.
“Do I need therapy experience?”
Not at all. CPRT is designed for everyday parents. We provide the tools, the training, and the encouragement.
“Is this right for me?”
If you feel stuck, frustrated, or disconnected, CPRT can give you new hope. You’ll learn to see your child—and yourself—through a more compassionate, empowering lens.
