Valerie Meyers, MS, LPCC, ND Certified Counselor Supervisor
The company was formed by Valerie Meyers, MS, LPCC, the owner of the company, in May of 2010. Valerie Meyers, MS, LPCC, was born and raised in the Bismarck-Mandan area. In 2001, Meyers earned her B.S. in Community Psychology from St Cloud State University in St Cloud, MN. She continued her education, earning her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, WI.
Meyers specializes in treating children with expressive therapies such as play therapy, sandplay therapy, and art therapy. She has extensive training in children, parenting, and ways to help them. Learn more about Val
Talesa Heger, MS, LPCC

Talesa is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Talesa has experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups. Talesa's focus is cognitive-behavioral therapy, with training in play, art, and sandtray therapy strategies as well as trained to provide EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy which is evidenced treatment approach for many types of psychological distress to include anxiety, depression, and trauma based issues. The client population Talesa serves presently includes pre-school through geriatric populations. Outside of work, Talesa enjoys watching her children at sporting events, camping, boating, and family trips.
Heather Mattheis, MSW, LCSW, TLS Coach
Ms. Mattheis was born and raised in ND. She has worked numerous years with children and families with a primary focus on child abuse and children's well being. She enjoys working with all ages of children and their families. In practice she utilizes play, art and sandtray. In addition, she is trained in EMDR and enjoys helping those whom are battling trauma symptoms. Heather also loves helping other with their lifestyle via teaching low glycemic classes or meeting individually for wellness consultations.
Amanda Lange, MS, LPC

Amanda was born and raised in the Bismarck. She graduated from the University of Mary with her Bachelors in Psychology in 2016. In 2018, she graduated from the University of Mary with her Masters in Mental Health Counseling. She has experience with working with children and their families as well as working with children residing in in-patient psychiatric treatment centers. She loves working with children of all ages, along with their families and caretakers. In practice she utilizes play, art and sandtray. In her off-time Amanda loves to play with her dog, Simba, and spend time with her family.
Jess Wurtz, MSW, LMSW

Jess is a Licensed Certified Social Worker. She was born and raised in North Dakota. She has 15 years of experience working with children and their families in a variety of settings. Jess has training specific to child development and specifically children who have been exposed to trauma. In practice she utilizes play, art and sandtray therapy strategies as well as being trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Outside of work, Jess enjoys spending time with her family and being part of her children's activities.
Angie Helling, MS, LPCC

Angie is originally from Montana and has lived in North Dakota since 2006. She has over 10 years of experience providing individual and group counseling services to adolescent, adults, couples, and families. She has specialized training in criminogenic risk/needs assessments and offending/recidivism, EMDR, CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing. She attended Dickinson State University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. She subsequently earned her master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Mary. Angie’s special interests include anger management, relationship distress issues, and clinical supervision. Outside of work, Angie enjoys staying active, cheering on the Denver Broncos, and spending time with her family, and Shih Tzu, Riley Bear.
Courtney Schaner, MS, LAPC
Courtney was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. She gradated with her bachelors in Psychology in 2016 at Minnesota State University-Moorhead. In 2019 she graduated from the University of Mary with her masters in Clinical Mental Health counseling. She has experience working with children of various ages, parents, and families with emotional, behavioral, and mental health concerns in outpatient, home, and school based settings. She has experience working in a development clinic for children with autism and developmental delays. In practice she utilizes CBT techniques along with play, art, and sandtray therapy. Outside of work, she enjoys being active, riding bike, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends.

Hannah Torgerson, MS, LAPC

Hannah was born and raised in Bismarck, ND. She Graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with her Bachelors in Early Childhood Education in 2015. She taught second grade in Dallas, TX before getting her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas at Dallas. She loves working with children of all ages, along with their families and care takers. In practice she utilizes play, art and sandtray therapies. Hannah is also passionate about the connection between nutrition and mental health. Through genetic testing, low glycemic eating, and supplementation, she works with individuals and families to optimize healthy living.
Heidi Sornsin, MSW, LMSW

Heidi was born and raised in Mandan, ND. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) and received her Master’s of Social Work from Edinboro University in Pennsylvania. She has a wide range of experience as a mental health practitioner working with children and adolescents. In practice she utilizes art, play, and sandtray therapies as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. Outside of work, Heidi enjoys being outside with her two Australian shepherds, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Jen Eberle, MS, LPCC

Jen Eberle graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Valley City State University in 2007. She then graduated from The University of Mary, Fargo, ND with a Master's of Science in Community Counseling in 2011. She started her career doing Intensive In-Home working with families in crisis. She has continued her love of working with children and families using creative interventions like play, art, and sand tray when she owned her own private practice, Creative Therapy, from 2014- 2019. Another major part of Jen's approach is to use a holistic model when evaluating the needs of her patients, considering not only behavioral and emotional health but also physical and spiritual wellbeing as well. She is also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and Prolonged Exposure (PE) for Veterans.
In 2018, she was honored with the award of the Most Outstanding Mental Health Therapist by the North Dakota Mental Health Counselors Association. Jen has volunteered on many boards and committees in Valley City to help serve her community. She lives in Valley City with her husband and four children. In her spare time, she loves reading, walking, playing with her kids and pets, designing spaces at home, and traveling. Jen will be Full-Time and will be seeing adults and children (ages 2-18). She will be accepting insurances such as Blue Cross Blue Shield ND, Sanford, Medica, Optum, Medicaid, Cigna, and United Behavioral Health. She will be accepting EAPs like Livewell, St. Alexis, and The Village.
